Breast Cancer Awareness: Shop for a Cure

The start of October marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Every year we like to share some of our favorite products that give back.  They are things we would love to own that just so happen to donate a percentage of their proceeds to charities that help support breast cancer research.  If you are looking to do some good and shop for a cure, here are some of our favorites:

1. Sony Reader Bundle ($200)
Sony has released a limited edition eReader bundle for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  The bundle includes a rose-colored Reader Pocket Edition^TM, gold case and a code for four free eBook downloads for books about this disease and the women who have overcome it.  In exchange, Sony has pledged to donate $110,000 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  The BCRF is dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure in our lifetime by funding clinical and translational research worldwide.

For the entire month of October, Unique Vintage has pledged to donate 20% of all profits from these pink items to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.  This foundation saves lives by increasing awareness of breast cancer through education and by providing mammograms for those in need.

4. Champion Pink Ribbon Keds ($40)
In honor of breast cancer awareness, Keds has released a Champion Pink Ribbon canvas sneaker. 100% of the proceeds of the Champion Pink Ribbon Sneaker will benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

5. Diptyque - Pink Roses Candle ($68)
For the entire month of October, Diptyque has pledged to donate 20% of the sales of their Pink Roses candle to The Pink Agenda.  The Pink Agenda is committed to raising money for breast cancer care and research and awareness of the disease among young professionals, a group that has remained largely underengaged and underutilized in the search for a cure. They are hoping to change that by raising money and raising awareness. 

6. LuxeLink ($35)
The cure for our purse has launched their Hope - Help the fight against Breast Cancer Luxe Link to help raise money for breast cancer awareness. 10% of the proceeds from the sale of the Hope Luxe Link goes to the Gal to Gal Foundation in support of Stage 4 breast cancer patients.

7. Beyond Yoga 'I am beyond...' water bottle ($36)
You can stay hydrated and hopeful with Beyond Yoga's "I am beyond...hopeful" water bottle.  Not only does it help save the environment, but it also helps fund breast cancer research donating 30% of the sales to the Entertainment Industry Foundation Women's Cancer Research Fund.

8. cinda b Weekender in Sweetleaf Pink ($95)
For the entire month of October, cinda b will donate 15% of retail sales to the Young Survival Coalition, committed to research and advocacy for this group of underserved cancer patients.  It's not just for the Weekender, cinda b will donate 15% for ANY product purchased in Sweetleaf Pink - all 39 styles.

9. Emily Elizabeth Jewelry - Rose Gold Essentials Necklace Trio ($90 for set of 3)
This October, Emily Elizabeth Jewelry has teamed up with the Feel Your Boobies Foundation to raise awareness for Breast Cancer.  For every sale of their rose gold Three Essentials Necklace Trio, 40% of the proceeds will go to the foundation that reminds women to give themselves self breast examinations to aide in early diagnoses of breast cancer.
