Halloween Gifts - Crazy for Pumpkins

It's so crazy how fast this year has gone by. It feels like just yesterday we were contemplating summer hostess gifts and already autumn is here. With the falling of leaves comes one of our utmost favorite holidays - HALLOWEEN! It is the one day of the year that CALORIES DO NOT COUNT. We're serious, they don't. Now that you're convinced, let's discuss our favorite, pumpkin-inspired sweets this season.

The Harvest Pumpkin by Elegant Cheese Cakes ($120)
While this may look like a legitimate pumpkin, it is really a cheesecake decorated like one! The Harvest Pumpkin by Elegant Cheese Cakes is made from a traditional, plain cheesecake with pumpkin hazelnut toffee swirl on a cookie crust. It is then camouflaged as a fall pumpkin in the patch. You will feel terrible cutting into this work of art - but get over it. It's worth every last crumb.

White Chocolate Pumpkin with Ganache-filled Figs ($32)
The white chocolate, hand-painted pumpkin is not even the best part. Inside are three precious ganache-filled figs. It gets better. Each praline, roasted-apple ganache filled fig, has also been dipped in Ecuadorian dark chocolate, then in orange-flavored, orange-tinted white chocolate. You will be pissed there are only three; so, as greedy as this sounds...don't share.

Cranky Jack-O-Lantern Artisan Chocolates ($36)
We love these Cranky Jack-O-Lanterns. In fact, we resemble them before our first cup of coffee. Apart from the striking resemblance, they are worth every non-existent calorie. Half of the Jack-O-Lanterns are creamy milk chocolate with classic chocolate-hazelnut gianduja filling, and the other half are dark chocolate with organic orange and Cassia cinnamon ganache.

Classic Pumpkins Drunken Chocolate Figs ($37)
We are big into figs this year. With the amount of chocolate we consume this season, we feel better about ourselves when we throw a little fruit into the mix. The drunken figs from Spain are filled with whiskey clove ganache, and then dipped in a thin layer of white chocolate tinted to a perfect shade of pumpkin. These are definitely for the more mature palette. They come with 12 packed in a wood box, so it would be a little piggish of you not to share these. ☺

This whole pumpkin conversation made us nostalgic. We may have to fight the 5th graders for seats on the hayride this year!
