Mother-in-law day, mother-in-law gift

Since the beginning of time (or at least the beginning of marriage) mother-in-laws have been stereotyped as the bane of a couple's relationship. We're not sure how they caught such a bad wrap since our mother-in-laws are pretty fabulous. Our birthdays are never forgotten (especially now with our social calendar!), we get better gifts for the holidays, and in general are well fed when we go home to visit. What's bad about that?
